About Bacteriostatic Water

Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. In the laboratory it is used as a reconstitution solvent to dissolve lyophilized research peptides and prepare solutions at a known concentration.

Research use

The benzyl alcohol preservative inhibits microbial growth, allowing repeated sampling from a reconstituted vial under proper aseptic technique. Supplied strictly as a reconstitution solvent for in vitro and laboratory research.
